Rinse several times with cold water to remove any floury smell, then squeeze gently to drain (don’t squeeze too dry or it will be tough). Combine the vegetarian beef, sugar, salt, seasoning powder, soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, cooking oil, toasted sesame seeds, black pepper, minced lemongrass, chopped green onion, and honey. Mix well and marinate overnight, or for at least 30 minutes if cooking right away.

Thread the marinated vegetarian beef onto skewers and grill, or place on a baking tray lined with foil and bake in the oven at 350–450°F (175–230°C) until both sides are evenly golden brown.
