Ingredients

  1. 3full chicken legs (thigh and drumstick)
  2. 1/2 tspChat masala for garnish
  3. 2Lemons for garnish
  4. 1sliced onion for garnish
  5. Marinade
  6. 3 tbspcurd
  7. 3 tbspginger garlic paste
  8. 1 tbspcumin powder
  9. 1 tbspcoriander powder
  10. 1 tspred chilli powder
  11. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  12. 1 tbsplemon juice
  13. 2 tspcrushed kasoori methi
  14. 1 tbspmustard oil
  15. to tasteSalt
  16. Garam masala (coarsely ground)
  17. 5cloves
  18. 10pepper corns
  19. 1 inchcinnamon stick
  20. 1star anise
  21. 2black cardamom
  22. 4green cardamoms

Cooking Instructions

    Prepare the chicken legs by making gashes so that marinade can soak in.

    To marinate the chicken, take the chicken in a large mixing bowl. Add in the curd and the ginger garlic paste.

    Add in red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, crushed kasoori methi, salt, coarsely ground garam masala, lemon juice and mustard oil.

    Mix well until the chicken legs are well coated. Marinate for at least two hours, preferably overnight.

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius. Place the chicken legs on the baking rack. Make sure to use a dripping tray underneath. Baste with oil and grill at 180 degrees celsius for 20 minutes.

    Turn them over and baste with a bit of oil. Grill again for another 20 minutes or until cooked.

    Oven Roasted Grilled Tandoori Chicken is ready to serve. Sprinkle on a bit of chat masala and serve with onion rings and lemon slices.
