These spiced kebabs make such a quick and delicious healthy meal. Ready in under 20 minutes they are a crowd pleaser! I like to make them with either beef or lamb mince.

Ingredients

20 mins
2-3 people
  1. 500 glean beef steak mince OR lamb mince,
  2. 1small egg (optional),
  3. 2 tspgarlic granules,
  4. 2 tspdried oregano,
  5. 1 tspdried parsley,
  6. 1 tsponion powder,
  7. 1/2 tspground cumin,
  8. 1/2 tspchilli powder,
  9. 1/2 tspdried thyme,
  10. Salt & pepper to season,
  11. Vegetable oil for frying
  12. To serve:
  13. 1large tortilla wrap,
  14. Finely sliced red onion,
  15. 1vine tomato, sliced into quarters,
  16. Shredded gem lettuce,
  17. Crispy onion bits,
  18. Chilli sauce (I used habanero),
  19. Minted yogurt
  20. For Lamb Kebabs:
  21. Handfulfinely chopped mint leaves
  22. Equipment needed:
  23. Metal or wooden skewers

Cooking Instructions

20 mins
  1. 1

In a bowl mix together the meat plus all the herbs and spices and the egg, (this helps stick the kebabs to the skewers, however it's not necessary if forming the kebabs as patties without skewers). If making lamb kebabs, add the chopped mint. Season well with salt and pepper then mix together really well using your hands. (I like to wear latex gloves for this so it's less messy).

  2. 2

Divide the meat into four equal balls. Form each ball around a skewer so it adheres then slightly flatten it down so the cooking surface is thinner, they should look like slightly flattened sausages. Heat up a large frying pan or griddle over a medium high heat and cover the base with a thin layer of oil. Once nice and hot add in the kebabs.

  3. 3

Sear on each side for a couple of minutes to form a crust then turn the heat down to medium. Fry the kebabs for a few more minutes until cooked through. Turning occasionally. Remove from the heat.

  4. 4

Lay down a tortilla then place over the kebabs along with onions, shredded lettuce, tomatoes and crispy onion bits. Drizzle over your sauces then wrap it up and devour! Enjoy. :)
