Ingredients

  1. For the shawarma marinade:
  2. 2.2 poundschicken breast, sliced lengthwise
  3. 1/4 cupvinegar
  4. 1/2 cupyogurt
  5. 1 tablespoonpomegranate molasses and 1 tablespoon tahini
  6. 1/4 cupvegetable oil and olive oil
  7. 2 clovesgarlic, crushed
  8. 1onion, sliced into wedges
  9. 1tomato, chopped
  10. Pinchwhite pepper and black pepper
  11. Pinchdried cilantro and chicken seasoning
  12. Pinchoregano and sumac
  13. Pinchground cinnamon
  14. Pinchdried ginger or grated fresh ginger
  15. 2 sprigsfresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  16. Salt to taste
  17. For serving:
  18. Turkish doner bread (recipe previously shared)
  19. Garlic sauce
  20. White and red cabbage salad
  21. French fries
  22. Pickles

Cooking Instructions

    Mix the marinade ingredients and add the chicken slices, onion, and tomato. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or at least 3 hours.

    Place the shawarma in a baking dish and cook in the oven until done and browned.

    Prepare the bread dough to rise, then bake and cover with a clean cloth until ready to use. Prepare the French fries, chop the cabbage, mix together, add a pinch of sugar, and refrigerate before use. Then add a tablespoon of mayonnaise, vinegar, and yogurt, and mix well.

    Cut the bread into triangles and carefully open it with a knife. Spread with garlic sauce, then add shawarma slices, cabbage, fries, and pickles as desired.
