Shepherd's Pie the Meaty One Shepherd's Pie the Meaty One
A meaty delicious complete meal. True shepherd's pie made with lamb, and no cheese. Not to be mistaken for cottage pie made with beef. In restaurants here in America when I see shepherd's pie on the menu i have to ask is it real shepherd's pie made with lamb? 99% of the time "ah no sir it made with beef." My reply what a shame could you change the name to it's real name cottage pie? Even in Irish and British restaurants this happens. So here is a shepherd's pie without ale or wine in it. skunkmonkey101 -

A Proper Cottage Pie A Proper Cottage Pie
Cottage pie is made from beef, whereas real, Shepherd's pie, is made using lamb. Some people can use gravy granules, to make the gravy part. I can't because it contains MSG which I am allergic to. Also if you would like to add a cup of English peas to the filling feel free to do so. Oh you don't neccesarily have to use cheese. skunkmonkey101 -

Shepherd's Pie with Venison Mince Shepherd's Pie with Venison Mince
Shepherd's Pie is a British dish that, despite its name, doesn't use pie crust. It's made by covering a meat sauce simmered in gravy with mashed potatoes and baking it in the oven.A shepherd is someone who herds sheep, and traditionally lamb is used, but this time we used venison mince, which is easy to cook and versatile. 😋The top is crispy and the inside is fluffy mashed potatoes with a hearty meat sauce, making it a perfect dish for cold winter days. 👍💕Leftover sauce can be used to make the American classic "Sloppy Joe" by sandwiching it in burger buns. You can also scoop the sauce with potato chips or enjoy the crunchy texture by eating it in a bun. ダイニングプラスTranslated from Cookpad Japan
