Ground beef is a common ingredient found in many American households, but it doesn't have to be boring. I'm not a huge ground beef fan, so I'm always trying to think of ways to make it into something a little bit out of the ordinary.

  9. 1 lbFrozen tator tots

Cooking Instructions

1 hour
  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 400.

  2. 2

In a hot skillet, sautée the diced onion and mushrooms in a tablespoon or two of oil or butter (not the butter listed in ingredients). Season with salt & pepper and other spices as desired.

  3. 3

Remove veggies from pan. In same pan, brown the ground beef & season according to your tastes.

Then add beef broth and cook and stir until thickened. Now add back the meat, onions, mushrooms. And also stir in sour cream.

  7. 7

Check for seasoning and adjust if necessary.

  8. 8

Pour into a large, greased casserole dish.

  9. 9

Top with the tator tots. Bake at 400°F, uncovered for 30-45 minutes or until tots are golden brown and delicious! Let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.
