I've made this recipe for our chili cook-off at work that we have every year. Each time I've entered the contest, I won! My family and friends absolutely love this chili and asks me to make it as often as possible. I hope you enjoy it too!

I've made this recipe for our chili cook-off at work that we have every year. Each time I've entered the contest, I won! My family and friends absolutely love this chili and asks me to make it as often as possible. I hope you enjoy it too!

Ingredients

  1. 1 lbground beef or ground round
  2. 1large green pepper, chopped
  3. 1large yellow onion, chopped
  4. 40 ozcan of Brooks mild chili beans
  5. 22 ozcan of Brooks hot chili beans
  6. 14 1/2 ozcan of Stewed tomatoes (with celery, peppers, & cumin OR with mexican spices)
  7. 1 packagesBrooks mild chili seasoning
  8. 1garlic salt
  9. 1onion powder
  10. 1black pepper
  11. pinchground red pepper
  12. pinchground cayenne pepper
  13. 1/2 tspchili powder
  14. 3 tbspsugar

Cooking Instructions

    In Dutch oven, brown ground beef and season with garlic salt, onion powder, & pepper

    Drain grease and put beef back in Dutch oven.

    In a medium size bowl, add stewed tomatoes (cut up in small pieces). Then add chopped green pepper and chopped onion. Mix together.

    Pour the stewed tomatoes/onion/green pepper in Dutch oven with the ground beef.

    Add the package of Brooks Mild chili seasoning and mix together.

    Before adding both cans of Brooks chili beans, dump out some of the sauce but not all.

    Season again with garlic salt, onion powder, and pepper. Then add the chili powder, ground red pepper, ground cayenne pepper, and sugar.

    Mix well.

    Bring to a boil and let simmer on low for 3 hours.

Anyone that knows beans about chili knows chili ain't got no beans :o) The rest is good though lol
