Award Winning Chili

I've made this recipe for our chili cook-off at work that we have every year. Each time I've entered the contest, I won! My family and friends absolutely love this chili and asks me to make it as often as possible. I hope you enjoy it too!

Steps
- 1
In Dutch oven, brown ground beef and season with garlic salt, onion powder, & pepper
- 2
Drain grease and put beef back in Dutch oven.
- 3
In a medium size bowl, add stewed tomatoes (cut up in small pieces). Then add chopped green pepper and chopped onion. Mix together.
- 4
Pour the stewed tomatoes/onion/green pepper in Dutch oven with the ground beef.
- 5
Add the package of Brooks Mild chili seasoning and mix together.
- 6
Before adding both cans of Brooks chili beans, dump out some of the sauce but not all.
- 7
Season again with garlic salt, onion powder, and pepper. Then add the chili powder, ground red pepper, ground cayenne pepper, and sugar.
- 8
Mix well.
- 9
Bring to a boil and let simmer on low for 3 hours.
