Ingredients

8 servings
  1. meatballs
  2. 4 lbground beef
  3. 3 ozmozzarella cheese stick 4 sticks
  4. 2 tbspgranulated garlic powder
  5. 2 tspsalt
  6. 2 tsponion powder
  7. 1 tspground black pepper
  8. sauce
  9. 1 cupshredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
  10. 3 cantomato sauce** 15 ounce cans each
  11. 1 cantomato paste 8 ounce
  12. 1 1/2 tspsalt
  13. 1/4 cupsugar
  14. 2 tbspgranulated garlic powder
  15. 1 tspground black pepper
  16. 2 tbspbalsamic vinegar
  17. 2 tsponion powder
  18. 8 ozwater
  19. 1 smallonion sliced thinly
  20. pasta
  21. 1 boxpenne pasta 16 ounces
  22. 2 tspsalt
  23. 2 tbspolive oil
  24. 6 cupwater

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    take the meatball ingredients except the cheese, mix well cut the cheese into medallions. You will use a little over half the 4 pounds here.

    form beef into little balls, add cheese to the center of balls, cover over the cheese with beef. repeat, pan fry rotating often.

    you will have approximately a little under half the beef left over. where you have the juices and oils from meat balls fry onions in it.

    with the left over beef brown it. add onions drain meat, add tomato sauce. mix water and paste together. add water and paste mixture to sauce. Then add the rest of sauce ingredients except cheese

    add cooked pasta (which you bring salt ,oil, water to boil. Then add pasta cook 12 minutes and drain. Then add to sauce) and cheese. add to pasta and sauce.

    simmer 7 minutes stirring often

    ** if you use hunts brand tomato sauce adjust the amount of salt to the sauce hunts has a lot of salt in their canned tomato sauce

this was yummy, next time we will not do the meatballs and just make meat sauce but it was still good!
