Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 12 muffin tins with cooking spray or line with paper liners.
- 2
Place bread cubes in a large bowl and set aside.
- 3
In another large bowl whisk together milk, butter, eggs, syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Pour over bread and gently stir just til combined. Let set for 5-10 min to let the milk mixture soak in.
- 4
Divide mixture evenly into muffin tins and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 30-40 min til golden brown. Remove and let cool for 5 min.
- 5
You can top this with syrup n powdered sugar like I did or maybe even some vanilla ice cream. It kinda reminds u of a cross between French toast and bread pudding. Its very yummy!!

I wanted to eat French toast soaked in a milky mixture. When soaking the bread in the egg mixture, hold it firmly so it is coated well and evenly. Leave it in the mixture to soak and you'll get a nice melting texture. It will be as if it had been rested for a day. Recipe by Gakkoiburi cookpad.japan -

I had half a loaf of stale bread that I'd bought a week and a half ago before the lockdown began, so I did this to revive it. Without any other added ingredients it can be eaten savoury or sweet as one likes. The egg and milk in the proportions given seem to be almost exactly enough for six slices of sandwich bread. 蛟龍Stormwyrm -
