I wanted to eat French toast soaked in a milky mixture.

When soaking the bread in the egg mixture, hold it firmly so it is coated well and evenly. Leave it in the mixture to soak and you'll get a nice melting texture. It will be as if it had been rested for a day. Recipe by Gakkoiburi

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 3 sliceSliced bread
  2. 10 gramsSugar
  3. 2Eggs
  4. 300 gramsMilk
  5. 2 tbspHeavy cream or coffee creamer
  6. 1 dashVanilla oil or essence
  7. 10 gramsButter or margarine
  8. Toppings:
  9. 1Maple syrup or honey
  10. 1Ice cream

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Cut each slice of bread into 6 pieces and set aside. Beat the eggs in a bowl with a whisk, then mix in the sugar, milk, heavy cream and vanilla.

  2. 2

Firmly push the bread into the egg mixture so it is covered evenly and completely soaked. Here, you can wrap in plastic wrap and let it sit in the fridge if you like.

  3. 3

Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. When melted, add the bread, turn the heat to low, and bake both sides. Transfer to a serving plate, top with ice, and enjoy.

  4. 4

If you want to eat something really sweet, it's nice topped with maple syrup, honey, brown sugar syrup, or jam.
