Ingredients

  1. 1 cupRefined flour
  2. 1/2 cupChanna daal
  3. to tasteSalt
  4. 1/3 tbspSugar
  5. 1/3 cupJaggery
  6. 4 tbspGhee

    Soak the daal in water for 2 hrs and pressure cook it.

    Cook the daal for 1 vessel simmer the gas for 2 minutes and then switch off the gas.

    Put daal in blender and blend it.

    Put the mixture in a pan. Add sugar and jaggery and mix untill it dissolve completely and thick in consistency.

    When the stuffing had turned thick add cardemom powder and mix well.

    When cool down and make small lemon size balls from the daal mixture.

    Combine the flour and oil in a bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough water.
    Cover it and leave it for 20 minutes.

    Grease your hands with some oil and knead the dough again.

    Make lemon size balls from the dough. Apply some ghee on flat surface and roll out the ball with rolling pin.

    Now place the stuffing ball in the middle of rolling poori.

    Lift out all sides and close the stuffing.

    Now roll the puran poli with rolling pin untill its thick. Roll out puran poli very thinly.

    Spread some ghee on tawa and greese it. Very gently put out puran poli and place it on hot tawa.

    Roast the puran poli untill it get golden brown on both sides.

    Puran poli is ready to serve hot.
