Cooking Instructions

Fry the chicken after marinating it for 30 minutes.

Then, take it out in a serving plate.

Add water in the left over material in the frying pan.

Then add soya sauce, salt, chinese salt, pepper, lemon juice and vinegar.

On the other hand, fry onions in another pan bt adding salt, chinese salt, pepper, soya sauce, vinegar and Worcestershire sauce.

Then thicken the sauce by adding cornflour.

Serve it by pouring over the chicken after spreading the fried onions.

With this recipe, my bento box preparation in the morning became much easier.Rather than cooking the chicken first and then freezing it, I thought freezing it and then cooking it just before packing it in the bento box would make it more delicious, so I came up with this recipe.The sauce contains soy sauce, so it may burn easily.To make sure the chicken cooks through completely, cook slowly over low heat.(If it looks like it's going to burn, turn off the heat and let it finish cooking in residual heat.) I was partway through cooking this dish when my wife came up and said, 'oh, you're making chicken hamonado.' I was actually whipping something up off the top of my head so, of course, I had to look it up right away. Turns out chicken hamonado is a Filipino recipe for chicken in pineapple sauce. It was a little weird to get this revelation from my wife, who's the non-Filipino in the family. She explained that she knew the dish because the Filipino ladies from her church used to bring it to potlucks. My version deviates quite a bit from the theirs. I used to make "sautéed" chicken by cooking the chicken. One time, I didn't have time to do that and just tried microwaving the chicken. The results weren't as satisfying as my current method, but I thought it had potential, and worked on it and the result was this recipe.Every chicken breast has a different weight. The temperature of the meat will make a difference in the microwave cooking time.I don't think 6 minutes is too long, but if it's not long enough add cooking time in 30 second increments.
