Tumis Gambas/Sauteed Chinese Okra Indonesian Style

This recipe is my late mother's recipe. She used to cook the Chinese okra with tofu and beans sprouts. This sauteed Chinese okra is also one of my late father's favorite food.

Cara Membuat

Preheat the oil in the saucepan, sautee the diced onion, once it is wilted add minced garlic and chopped chilies./
Panaskan minyak di wajan, tumis bawang bombay yang sudah dipotong dadu, setelah layu masukkan bawang putih cincang dan cabai yang sudah dicincang. - 2
Then add chopped peeled Chinese okra, close the lid. Once the Chinese okra is wilted add the fried tofu and beans sprouts./
Kemudian tambahkan gambas yg ssh dikupas dan potong, tutup panci. Setelah okra gambas layu, tambahkan tahu goreng dan tauge. - 3
Then add sriracha, oysters sauce, sugar and salt. Lastly add the chicken broth, chopped spring onion, and celery. Cook till it is ready./
Kemudian tambahkan sriracha, saus tiram, gula dan garam. Terakhir tambahkan kaldu ayam, daun bawang cincang, dan seledri. Masak sampai siap. - 4
Sauteed Chinese okra Indonesian style is ready to serve to eat with plain rice, fried chicken, and sambal./
Tumis gambas siap disantap dengan nasi putih, ayam goreng, dan sambal.
