This is a quick version of regular pickled pearl onions. These are thinly sliced onions and soaked in a mixture of vinegar, sugar, salt, lemon juice and a pinch of red chilli powder.Soaking them overnight gives them a tangy sweet sour taste. These are best served as side condiments to many tandoori preparations tacos, nachos, sandwiches, fried egg preparations, pizza and many more.Store larger quantities in ceramic containers as it can be used till 2 weeks. The colour becomes bright pink the more it soaks in vinegar and the crunchy and tangy flavour is simply irresistible.
