Steps
- 1
In a stand mixer, add flour, salt, milk powder, water, 4 tablespoons of butter, yeast, and maple syrup and blend with the dough hook attachment. When dough forms, add the egg. Beat over medium speed for about 15 minutes. If sticky, sprinkle some flour and knead and roll out for about two minutes.
- 2
Take dough out of the stand mixer and place it in a bowl. Place it in the oven for 30 minutes, or until the dough doubles in size.
- 3
Punch down the dough and roll dough out like you would for a pan pizza. Take 4 tablespoons melted butter and rub it over top of dough. Mix together cinnamon and sugar spread over top of dough.
- 4
Take the dough from one side and roll it, then cut about 12 slices. Sprinkle the bottom of the pan with any leftover cinnamon sugar. Put it in the oven until it doubles in size, about 20 minutes. When doubled, flip them over in the pan.
- 5
Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes. Once slightly cooled, mix 4 tablespoons butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Add hot water, a tablespoon at a time, to desired consistency and pour over the tops of the buns.
