Ingredients

  1. 1 bowlall-purpose flour (maida)
  2. to tasteSalt
  3. 1/4 tspBlack pepper powder
  4. 2 Tbsp cooking oil for moyan
  5. 1/2 tspcarrom seeds
  6. 2 tbsp kasuri methi
  7. as requiredWater
  8. as requiredCooking Oil for deep frying mathri

Cooking Instructions

    Add all-purpose flour in a mixing bowl. Add salt, black pepper and cooking Oil for moyan and mix well with your hands till flour starts binding.

    Now add carrom seeds and kasuri methi and mix well.

    Now make a tight dough by adding lukewarm water slowly. Keep aside for 15 minutes covered.

    Now knead the dough again for 1 minute. Take a small portion of dough and make a tiny little ball. Press it gently between your palms and flatten it like a 1 Rs. Coin. Likewise make all the coins.

    Heat oil in a wok and deep fry all coins till golden brown colour. Remove it in a plate and let it come to room temperature.

    Fill it in an airtight container and keep it in room temperature. It can be stored for 1 month.
