Traditional, simple yet delicious,deep fried savoury , salty crispy snack made from maida, salt, cummin seeds and carom seeds.
Mathri is made by pressing dough balls between two palms of hands,instead of rolling on wooden board.
Made it first time,got experience to make this crunchy, popular tea time snack.

Ingredients

14-16 pieces
  1. 1 cupmaida
  2. 2 tbspsemolina/ rawa
  3. 1 tbspcummin seeds/ jeera
  4. 1 tspcarrom seeds/ ajwain
  5. 2 tbspghee for moin
  6. to tasteSalt
  7. Oil for frying

Cooking Instructions

    In mixing bowl add maida, rawa,salt, cummin seeds, carrom seeds and ghee. Mix well. Add little water to bind stiff dough. Keep cover for 10-15 minutes.

    Knead dough again and make small size 14-16 small balls. Take one flatten ball, place on your left hand palm. With right hand palm,start pressing it few times to make round small puris. Prepare all similarly. Prick each with fork as shown

    Heat oil in frying pan on medium flame. As get properly heated, drop few mathri puris at time. Deep fry on low flame till crispy golden. Similarly prepare all.

    Store in Airtight container. Serve/ Relish Delicious, crispy snack- Mathri at tea time.
