Sweet Pongal (Sakkrai Pongal)

Also known as Shrkara Pongal. As We do not have Makarsankranti or Pongal holiday in Kerala, I have no time to prepare anything. This recipe is easy to make so I gave it a try.

Cooking Instructions

Add some water in jaggery and cook for some time till jaggery get melt. Meanwhile take rice and dal.

Wash it properly. Add some water and give 4 whistles in the cooker. Once it is cool, open the lid and mash it properly. Add jaggery water and cook it on low flame. In another pan, add ghee.

Add cashews and raisins. Cook it for some time. Pour it into rice and jaggery mix. Mix it well. Sweet Pongal is ready to eat. Enjoy. Happy Makarsankranti.
