Ingredients

  1. 1 cupsweet corn
  2. 1/2 cupbesan
  3. 1/2 cupsooji
  4. 1/2 cupcurd
  5. 1chopped onion
  6. 1 tablespoon garlic ginger paste
  7. 1 tablespoonchopped green chillies
  8. 1/2 tbsp carom seeds
  9. 1/4 tbspcumin powder
  10. 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  11. 1/4 tbspred chilli powder
  12. 1/4 tbsp salt
  13. 1 tablespoonchopped coriander
  14. 1 tablespoon chopped curry leaves
  15. 2 tbspoil
  16. 1/4 tbspbaking soda

Cooking Instructions

    Add corn to a mixer jar and blend it roughly.
    In a medium-sized bowl, add besan (gram flour), sooji (semolina), and curd. Mix everything well.
    Cover the bowl and let the mixture rest for 5 minutes.

    After 5 minutes, add all the spices and the crushed corn to the sooji-besan mixture. Mix well.
    Then add chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste, curry leaves, coriander, and salt.
    Finally, add a pinch of baking soda and mix everything thoroughly.

    Heat an appe (appam) pan and add about 1/4 teaspoon of oil in each mold.
    Pour the batter into the molds and cover with a lid.
    After 30 seconds, flip to the other side and cook on low heat for another 30 seconds.
    Your delicious corn fritters, made with very little oil, are ready!

    Serve them with red chutney and enjoy! 😋
