Ingredients

  1. 2 3/4 cupself raising flour-ex
  2. 1 1/4vegetable oil
  3. Instant dry yeast 1/2tps
  4. 1 cupwarm water
  5. 1/2 tspSalt
  6. 2 tspSugar

    Put the flour in a bowl add salt and mix well

  2. 2

    In the second bowl-Mix milk and sugar whisk till well dissolved,add yeast whisk till well mixed let it rest in about 10min for yeast activation.

    Add the flour/salt mixture in bowl 2 little by little as you whisk till its thick,knead on a flat surface till its smooth.

    Add some little oil to make it smooth the put the dough in an air tight container and leave for 2hours till the dough doubles in size

    After the 2hours,divide the dough into 2balls.roll each ball on a smooth surface to a rectangular shape.

    Fold the rolled ball the two edges the roll

    Apply some oil on the baking tin and place each at the centre. Cover and leave to rest for 30min and it will increase in size.

    Light the oven,preheat for at least 5min then set time 25-35min depending on the oven at 180°c and bake.

    Once done, apply unsalted butter to make it moist and more tasty.

    Let the bread cool,cut it into slices,serve with a cup of coffee

when growing up my dad didn't allow us to cook our main role was prepare food and then mum will cook.after school and started working could only boil rice,fry eggs,make tea,mash mukimo nothing more.I got challenged by a friend(now my husband)who could make very delicious food and bake(mawe tatu) hence I realised something is wrong with me.I developed interest in cooking and baking,its now my passion.am doing quite well and yearning to learn more each day.

Your recipe says Water but your method says milk. You said 1 1/4 oil but method doesn't say anything about the 1 1/4 oil ???????
