Simple Stir Fried Squid and Garlic Shoots

I used to stir-fry garlic shoots with pork, but I wanted to change it up a bit. I substituted pork with squid, and it was delicious. This is how I arrived at this recipe.

Buy garlic shoots when on sale, parboil and freeze. You can take them straight from the freezer and toss into stir-fries. They will come in handy.
Add mayonnaise if you like. Adding mayonnaise makes the dish richer I think... Recipe by Kyo-nyan

Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 1Squid
  2. 1/2 bunchGarlic shoots
  3. 1/2 stalkJapanese leek
  4. 1 tspKatakuriko
  5. 1 tspSalt
  6. 1 dashSake
  7. 1heaping teaspoon Chicken stock granules
  8. 1Sesame oil
  9. 1Mayonnaise

Cooking Instructions

    Chop the garlic shoots into 5 ~ 6 cm, and parboil. Cut the squid into bite-size pieces. Cut the Japanese leek diagonally into thin slices.

    Sprinkle the squid with a small amount of sake and salt, then coat with katakuriko.

    Heat sesame oil in a pan, and stir-fry the squid. When the colour starts to change, add garlic shoots, Japanese leek, chicken stock granules, and continue stir-frying. Season with salt and pepper (not listed).

    Squeeze a circle of mayonnaise on top, mix together, and serve!
