Ingredients

  1. 250 grice
  2. 2onions
  3. 1green pepper
  4. 50 gpeas
  5. 1 TBSgarlic ginger paste
  6. 1 halftsp Cumin seeds
  7. 4cardamoms
  8. 3cloves
  9. Biryani masala (I used a tsp of pilau and garam masala)
  10. Cooking oil
  11. to tasteWater and salt

Cooking Instructions

    Soak rice for 30 mins

    Heat pan in medium flame. Add oil and when hot pour cumin seeds, cardamom and cloves. Cook for a few seconds then add diced onions and cook until translucent.

    Add garlic ginger paste and Cook for 30 seconds, stirring not to stick.

    Pour biryani masala and cook for 30 seconds then add your peas and cook for 2-3 mins

    Drain your soaked rice and add to the mixture stir and cook for a minute.

    Pour boiling water just to cover the rice (i dont measure my water) add salt and stir for the salt to mix. Cover tightly and let you simple vegetable biryani to simmer under low heat for 15 minutes

    Let your cooked biryani sit covered for 5 to 10 mins before serving

  8. 8

    Serve with your kachumbari.
