Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.

Mix wet ingredients
In a medium bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla extract, continue mixing until combined. - 6
Add dry ingredients
In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet mixture. Mix until just combined (do not overmix). - 7
Add chocolate & pecans
Gently fold in chocolate chips and chopped pecans. - 8
Shape cookies
Scoop dough with a spoon (about 1 tbsp each) and place onto prepared baking sheet, leaving space between cookies. - 9
Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
Center may look slightly soft—this is normal; cookies will firm up as they cool. - 10
Cool
Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Tips
For softer cookies → slightly underbake (10 minutes).
For crispier cookies → bake 1–2 minutes longer.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
You can freeze the dough balls for quick baking later.
