Makes about 40–45 cookies
  1. 3/4 cup (170 g)unsalted butter, softened
  2. 1/2 cup (100 g)granulated sugar
  3. 1 cup (200 g)light brown sugar, packed
  4. 2large eggs
  5. 1 tspvanilla extract
  6. 1 tspbaking soda
  7. 1/2 tspsalt
  8. 2 cups (240 g)all-purpose flour
  9. 2 cupssemi-sweet chocolate chips
  10. 1 cuppecans, chopped (optional)

    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.

    Mix wet ingredients
    In a medium bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth.
    Add eggs and vanilla extract, continue mixing until combined.

    Add dry ingredients
    In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
    Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet mixture. Mix until just combined (do not overmix).

    Add chocolate & pecans
    Gently fold in chocolate chips and chopped pecans.

    Shape cookies
    Scoop dough with a spoon (about 1 tbsp each) and place onto prepared baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.

    Bake
    Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
    Center may look slightly soft—this is normal; cookies will firm up as they cool.

    Cool
    Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Tips

For softer cookies → slightly underbake (10 minutes).

For crispier cookies → bake 1–2 minutes longer.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

You can freeze the dough balls for quick baking later.
