I learnt this recipe from Our Sisters in Tanzania. It is a Sweet and Salty snack and I must say, I can never get over that amazing combination of tastes.
Cooking Instructions

Mix the yeast, a pinch of sugar, a pinch of plain flour and the ¼ cup of warm water. Leave the yeast to rise

Knead 2 cups flour, sugar, cardamom, coconut powder, warm milk and yeast mixture to form a smooth dough.

Let the dough rest in a warm place – preferably overnight or until double in size.

In another bowl, have Warm Water, add salt then 2 cups flour. Knead until well incorporated.

Taking turns, Roll out the 'Mahamri' dough then the 'chapati' dough. Superimpose the two on each other.

Cut into strips and roll up. As pictured. You can interchange how you lay the dough if you like.

Heat up your cooking oil and deep fry as you would, Mandazi. Drain, Cool and Enjoy.
