Fusion Garlic Butter Pasta

Ingredients

30 minutes
3-4 servings
  1. 1/2 lbthin spaghetti
  2. 4 clovesgarlic, sliced thin
  3. 1 tbspextra virgin olive oil
  4. 1-2 tspred chilli flakes
  5. 3 tbspunsalted butter
  6. 2 1/2 tbsptamari or shoyu
  7. 2 1/2 tbspoyster sauce
  8. 4-5 sprigsItalian parsley, washed, leaves removed, chopped
  9. 1/2-1 cuppasta water
  10. 3-4 tbspgrated parmesan cheese

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook spaghetti as you prefer. Do not salt the water.

    Heat olive oil in a sauté pan on low to medium heat. Add garlic and sauté lightly until just golden.

    Add red pepper flakes and sauté briefly.

  4. 4

    Add butter to the pan and deglaze.

  5. 5

    Add pasta water and heat to combine flavors.

  6. 6

    Add tamari and oyster sauce. Heat and stir to combine flavors.

  7. 7

    Drain pasta and reserve 1/2 cup pasta water just in case it is needed. Add drained pasta to the sauté pan and combine and heat until sauce is adhering to the spaghetti and glistening.

    Add chopped parsley and combine until just wilted.

    Divide into pasta bowls, top with parmesan cheese and serve.

Strange I only made this a few days ago from a YouTube video I found. But we have a different version and constant favorite recipe from my mum without the oyster sauce and soy sauce. Only add olive oil, garlic and parsley or coriander. Salt and pepper. A French recipe. Still delicious!
