Easy Chocolate Drop Cookies

These are chocolate cookies that I used to eat a long time ago. I forgot the recipe, but I was able to piece out the memory as I attempted to recreate the recipe.
Use unsalted butter (or margarine) if you prefer. Recipe by FarmersK

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Once the butter is soft and at room temperature, mix with a whisk until it turns pale.
- 2
Next add the sugar in bit by bit, while mixing well.
- 3
Add a beaten egg in 5 portions, mixing well after each addition. Be absolutely sure that you add it in bit by bit.
- 4
Mix well until it looks like this.
- 5
With a kitchen knife, chop up the chocolate into 5 mm pieces. Add it to the batter.
- 6
In a separate bowl, combine the flour and cocoa powder and sift.
- 7
Transfer the sifted flour into the Step 5 bowl and mix until there are no flour streaks.
- 8
At first it will be very floury, but gradually the dough will blend in. It's easier to use a wooden spatula instead of a rubber one.
- 9
This is what the dough looks like once it's well incorporated.
- 10
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and using a spoon, drop the dough onto the tray.
- 11
When you bake them, they will spread out so make sure to spoon the dough high.
- 12
Next, in a preheated oven at 350℉ (180℃) bake for 17 minutes till they are done.

I thought of this recipe as a snack for my kids. They love kabocha, so this easy-to-make recipe works great for us I made the steps as easy as possible, so the kids can help make it.There's nothing really difficult about this. The key is just to make sure the butter and egg are at room temperature, and make sure the mashed kabocha cools before you add it. Feel free to make these drop cookies to your liking!
