This is a simple palm kernel sou, in the preparation of this soup I didn't use any of the traditional spices that would typically go with it. My Edo and Delta people una dooo o! I decided to go simple and tasty on this dish.

This is a simple palm kernel sou, in the preparation of this soup I didn't use any of the traditional spices that would typically go with it. My Edo and Delta people una dooo o! I decided to go simple and tasty on this dish.

Ingredients

  1. Ripe palm kernel
  2. Dry pepper
  3. Salt
  4. Smoked fish and chicken
  5. Scent leaves (Effirin)
  6. Seasoning (grounded ginger, garlic)

Cooking Instructions

    Wash palm kernels and boil for till tender. Then pound in a mortar.

    Put pound palm kernel in an aluminum bowl or pot, pour in hot water on it to extract the juice (banga)

    Strain juice into cooking pot, heat up allow to boil then begin to add in the dry pepper and other seasoning. Allow to boil, add the smoked chicken and smoked fish. Allow to boil very well

    Taste for salt and correct then add in the chopped scent leaves (Effirin). Then serve with any swallow of your choice. I enjoyed mine with white boiled rice.
