Bone-In Chicken Curry

I made an inexpensive curry using bone-in chicken. I thought it up as a I went along. You can also used cut canned tomatoes.

If you want to make it spicy, add 2 store-bought curry roux instead of the hayashi rice roux.
※ In Step 4, add fresh or 100 ml of canned tomatoes.
※ If you prepare the onions in a microwave, they will stir-fry quickly. Refer to Recipe by Yuuyuu0221

Ingredients

  1. 4Bone-in chicken legs
  2. 1 1/2Finely chopped onions
  3. 1Grated or finely chopped carrots
  4. 1 cloveThinly sliced garlic
  5. 1/2Finely chopped celery
  6. 1Roughly chopped tomatoes
  7. 1/2Grated apple
  8. 3 tbspCurry powder
  9. 2Soup stock cubes
  10. 1Spices
  11. 2cubes Hayashi rice roux
  12. 1000 mlWater or hot water
  13. 1Japanese Worcestershire-style sauce
  14. 1Honey
  15. 1Vegetable oil
  16. 1★Turmeric rice
  17. 1★Paprika rice

Cooking Instructions

    Prepare the ★ turmeric rice or paprika rice.

  2. 2

    Season the bone-in chicken with salt and pepper and dredge with flour. Heat oil in a frying pan and cook the garlic and chicken until browned.

    Remove the meat, add the finely chopped onions, and stir-fry well. Add the celery and continue to stir-fry.

    Transfer Step 3 into a pot and add the water, soup stock granules, apple, grated carrots, chopped tomatoes, and Step 1 chicken. Simmer.

    Add the sautéed curry powder and whatever spices you prefer (such as all spice and garam masala).

  6. 6

    Finally, add the hayashi rice roux, honey, and sauce to season.

  7. 7

    Put the rice on a dish and pour the meat and curry. Garnish with parsley.
