I think the secret to a great meat pie is the chicken stock or meat stock …I forgot to take pictures of the process
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Dice your onions, potatoes and carrot..set aside
- 2
Oil in a pot, once it’s hot add your diced onions and after few seconds add your garlic paste
- 3
Then add your minced meat, don’t forget to keep stirring to break up big clumps.. let it cook for a bit
- 4
Then add your diced carrots and potatoes.. stir until it’s combined
- 5
Now add the seasonings I listed above
- 6
Then add your chicken stock and let it cook until diced potatoes and carrots are soft and the meat is cooked (don’t forget to cook on very low gas)
- 7
Once it’s cooked mix 1 cup of water with 2 tablespoon of flour together… mix until it looks like milk, now pour it in the pot and stir together.. let it cook for a few seconds then switch off the gas
- 8
Mix flour, baking powder and salt together
- 9
Then add your butter.. mix it together with your fingers until it looks like Bread crumbs
- 10
Make a well in the middle and start adding your water little by little..(I used more than 1/4 cup of water but use what works for you but make sure you don’t end up with a sticky dough)
- 11
Knead the dough for a few seconds.. wrap it in a cling film and keep in the fridge for 1/2 and hour(30 minutes).. >> if you leave it longer in the fridge you’ll end up with a hard dough(don’t panic), just leave the dough in the kitchen to warm up.
- 12
Knead the dough again then roll it and use a round shape dough cutter or any round shape object you have
- 13
Explaining without pictures is difficult so I’ll make a detailed recipe on this later
- 14
This is the end result

I don't think it gets much better than this, on a cold, dreary winter day. Don't let the length of this recipe scare you. It is a process of sorts, but it's not hard to do at all. Substitute store bought chicken stock and a pre-cooked deli style chicken for shortcuts. Lee's -

The British Embassy in Japan is holding a campaign for Japanese citizens to enjoy British cuisine firsthand. This campaign is called "Food is GREAT: A Taste of Britain."The cinnamon and the Worcestershire sauce are the two hidden flavors. I recommend using the British brand of Worcestershire sauce called "Lea & Perrins." If you change the lamb meat to beef, it becomes "Cottage Pie." Recipe by British Embassy cookpad.japan -
Sweet potato curry pie Sweet potato curry pie
I love chicken pot pie, he loves flavor. This is a match made in heaven. The secret is the Pillsbury Crescent Roll top—better than pie crust! This is an amalgamation of several of our favorite recipes. The curry base is heavily adapted (and simplified) from a vegetarian recipe we found on BBC: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3165/curried-vegetable-pieThe veggie option was good, but we found the chicken adds a lot of that umami flavor, and it’s the perfect use of leftover chicken!
