Hello!!! I am finally done with painting part of the house. I discovered that some walls need to be wallpapered, and not painted. To be able to paint them I would have to start from the very basic rules, and since I am not a professional painter I decided to wallpaper them.While searching the internet, I came across so many designs, I had no idea that wallpaper was back in style!!! this will definitely give the walls a great look instead of just paint. I chose a few designs and expecting to receive them in the next few days.It was time for me to choose a recipe, so I sat around looking at the many different recipes I have and could not choose one that I really wanted to make…:) So, don’t laugh I actually did a “Eeny meeny miny moe” funny hahahahaha and this wonderful Almond Cake was chosen as the lucky recipe.

I came across this recipe on the internet when I was looking for semolina cake recipe. In my first attempt I followed the recipe step by step, but unfortunately the cake turned out very dry. So, I made orange syrup and poured it on top, I thought the syrup would make the cake moist. The cake was nice and moist with orange syrup, but it had to be eaten as quick as possible, because it turned bad the next day.So, in this recipe I have made some adjustments where I reduced the amount of flour and sugar in it and added extra almond powder. I used orange juice instead of milk and added orange zest. The cake turned out very nice, moist with slightly orange flavored.

This is a one layer cake I made up. I have a wild hog I found injured and abandoned as a baby that is now a full grown spoiled princess her name is Buttercup. She loves sweets I make these cakes as treats for her but my family loves them too. Give this a try it's easy and amazing!

In Step 2 when making the caramel, lining the frying pan makes it far easier to clean at the end! Keep an eye on the caramel right until it changes colour.
