Rice rava upma

Ingredients

30 minutes
4 persons
  1. 1.5 cupsrice rava
  2. 1/4 cupsplit moong dal
  3. 1small onion cut into squares
  4. 1small onion cut into slices
  5. 1 tbspginger (grated)
  6. 4large fresh green chillies
  7. handfulCurry leaves
  8. handfulCoriander leaves
  9. 40 mloil
  10. 1 tbspghee
  11. 1 tspmustard seeds
  12. 1 tspcumin seeds
  13. 1 tspgota urad dal
  14. 1 tspchana dal
  15. as requiredSalt to taste
  16. 1/2 tbspsambar powder
  17. 4 cupshot water

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes
  1. 1

    In a kadhai dry roast rice rava till you get a little brownish tinge. Keep aside.

    Next heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Add urad dal, chana dal.
    Put chopped onions, grated ginger, green chillies and curry leaves.
    Next add washed split moong dal. Mix and saute till onion becomes little brownish.

    Next add salt and sambar powder. Mix.
    Add hot water. Let it all boil together.

    Next add chopped coriander leaves. After. Single boil, add the dry roasted rice rava. Mix.

    Cover and cook at the slowest heat till the rice and moong dal are cooked. As it's ready, put ghee and give a nice gentle mix.

    OfHot hot rice rava upma is ready!!
    Serve with masala chai and enjoy!!
