Ingredients

Makes 12 to 14 pieces

  2. 1 cupsugar (about 200 grams)
  3. 1 cupmilk (about 240 ml)
  4. 1/2 cupsunflower oil (about 120 ml)
  5. 1 teaspoonvanilla extract
  6. 2 tablespoonscocoa powder
  7. 1 tablespoonbaking powder
  8. 2 cupsall-purpose flour (about 250 grams)
  9. Chocolate Syrup:
  10. 2 cupsmilk (about 480 ml)
  11. 1/2 cupsunflower oil (about 120 ml)
  12. 1/2 cupsugar (about 100 grams)
  13. 3 tablespoonscocoa powder
  14. 3.5 ozdark chocolate (about 100 grams)

    Beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and milk, and mix well. Add the sunflower oil, cocoa powder, flour, and baking powder. Beat well until the cake batter is fluffy. Grease a baking pan and bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown.

    Once baked, let it cool. Meanwhile, prepare the chocolate syrup. In a saucepan, combine the milk, oil, sugar, and cocoa powder. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly. Add the dark chocolate and stir until melted and fully combined. Cut the cake into slices, poke holes in the top, and pour the hot syrup over it. Let it cool a bit, then refrigerate for 4 hours.
