I made this because I learned that chirimen jako and cheese go together well.

The mayonnaise is optional. It does add richness, but the saltiness of chirimen jako varies, so I made the mayonnaise optional.
I think the chirimen jako tastes best if it becomes softened as it is cooked inside the cheese. For 1 serving. Recipe by Cookie shiasu

Ingredients

1 serving
  1. 1 sliceSliced bread
  2. 2 tbspChirimen jako
  3. 1as much (to taste) Melting type cheese
  4. 1Butter or margarine
  5. 1 tspMayonnaise (optional)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Gather the ingredients.

  2. 2

    Spread butter or margarine on the bread. Spread on a layer of mayonnaise and scatter the chirimen jako over the whole surface.

  3. 3

    Top with the cheese as if to hide everything.

  4. 4

    Toast in an oven until the cheese is a nice golden brown.
