Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 320°F (160°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- 2
Place the chocolate, butter, and milk in a bowl, and melt over a water bath at about 140°F (60°C) until smooth.
- 3
Remove from the water bath and mix in the sugar and eggs.
- 4
Sift the cocoa powder, baking powder, and flour into the mixture and stir until smooth.
- 5
Optionally, mix in walnuts or other nuts, pour into the pan, and bake at 320°F (160°C) for 20 minutes. (You can also top with nuts.)
- 6
Insert a toothpick into the baked brownies; if it comes out clean, they are done. Let cool, then cut into your preferred size.
- 7
I always trim the edges and then cut into 4 by 6 pieces, making about 24 squares of approximately 1.5 inches each.
- 8
For variations, you can cut out heart shapes. It's easier to cut the day after baking when they are more set.
- 9
Decorate with melted chocolate and your choice of toppings for a cute finish.
- 10
I tried spreading melted chocolate on the bottom, stacking two layers, and cutting into 1-2 cm wide pieces (with chocolate in the middle).
- 11
Cut parchment or tracing paper to the width of the brownies, wrap, and secure with a sticker for easy packaging.
- 12
The brownie scraps can be crumbled and mixed with nuts or marshmallows, then set with melted chocolate for a tasty treat.
- 13
In step 3, you can add 2 tablespoons (30cc) of your favorite liquor for a more adult flavor.
- 14
Besides nuts, finely chopped orange peel adds a nice flavor and is delicious.

I like chocolate and love brownies. These have a very distinct sweetness.・When microwaving the chocolate and butter, please be careful not to burn it.・If the eggs aren't at room temperature, break and mix them in a separate container, then add to the bowl.・It's okay to reduce the amount of sugar. I wanted to make light brownies, so instead of baking powder, I used eggs to make them rise.Mix firmly with a spatula after the first addition. For the second addition, mix lightly, scooping the batter up from the bottom, to leave as much of the egg foam in tact as possible. For the third addition, transfer the batter into the egg bowl and gently fold it in.To make the brownies light, be sure to beat the eggs well. Recipe by Akito mama cookpad.japan -

I'm not fond of overly sweet treats, so I tried adding coffee to accent these brownies. Coffee and chocolate go perfectly together. The slight bitterness and fragrance of the coffee makes these brownies perfect for the grown-up palate.Use whatever type of nuts and chocolate that you like. You can just use walnuts and it will still be delicious. I recommend using bitter or dark chocolate! If you're not using almonds to decorate the top, you jut need to bake this for 20 minutes at 170°C!I also recommend decorating the top with icing or melted chocolate.
