When I was little, I think the popular method to make meatballs for bentos was to heat pre-made meatballs in boiling water.I wanted to make homemade meatballs for my family, so I came up with this recipe! There are tips listed in many of the steps.Adding vinegar is optional. I make this both with and without it, depending on what I feel like. For approx. 18 meatballs. Recipe by Hiromanma cookpad.japan -
Cuban Meatballs Bento Cuban Meatballs Bento
This was the first bento I made when I started my bento series in my blog, www.diybento.com. It was nothing extremely innovative, it was nice and simple but it tasted good, and since I am Cuban, it was also comfort food.Bento Components:– Sushi Rice– Steamed Broccoli– Cuban Meatballs– Cereal Snacks– Carrot Flowers Silvia Andrito -
Round and Cute Hatcho Miso Quail Egg Meatballs For Bento Round and Cute Hatcho Miso Quail Egg Meatballs For Bento
I just love the distinct richness and fragrance of hatcho miso! We use hatcho miso for Japanese dishes of course, but for us it's also an indispensable ingredient for demiglace sauce. I devised this bento to feature meatballs made using Aichi Prefecture locally-produced foods. The meatballs are made with Okazaki hatcho miso and quail eggs produced in Toyohashi. I included side dishes made with locally produced vegetables and seafood in the bento. In step 2, if you mix the sugar, hatcho miso and ketchup into a paste beforehand, the miso won't stiffen and the paste will be easier to knead.By both grating and mincing the lotus root, you can enjoy two different textures. The meatballs are well flavored, so they're delicious without sauce or other additions. Cherry Blossom Viewing Bento - Meatballs (Sakura Colored) Cherry Blossom Viewing Bento - Meatballs (Sakura Colored)
While thinking, "Can I make this without mochi rice?" I made this. We rarely use mochi rice in our house. When steaming, the goal is to steam until the rice is heated. The steamer will get sticky, so try not to let too much of the rice touch the bottom of the steamer. Recipe by Umihotaru cookpad.japan -
Character Bento Meatball Makkuro Kurosuke Character Bento Meatball Makkuro Kurosuke
I came up with these at the same time as my Totoro Charaben ("character bento").It's best to secure the parts after putting the meatballs in the bento box.Use the spaghetti to fix them into place to prevent them from sliding. By the time they're ready to be eaten, the spaghetti will have softened and can be eaten together with the meatballs. Recipe by momo** cookpad.japan -
