Lemon Tasty Grated Cabbage & Carrot Salad

It's Friday the end of the week, I was just thinking to myself where did the week go???? I have been so busy these past few days. I had my last Dutch lesson on Tuesday so starting again in October. I have been trying to organise a few things that I need to do over the summer and to top it off I had errands to do this morning. :) As I mentioned in my previous post I am back with another salad recipe!! Since I still have errands to do I wanted to make a very light lunch and this was a fantastic choice.
Sorry my post will be quite short today but I will catch you all up on what I will be doing in the future. We are off for the weekend, we are going to visit friends :)
Wishing everyone a great weekend, see you back here on Monday :)

I needed a refreshing side dish for karaage (Japanese fried chicken).Whole grain mustard isn't spicy. It adds a bit of tartness and depth to the flavor. It's very refreshing and is a perfect side dish for deep-fried food and meat dishes! Please squeeze out as much as water as you can at Step 1 to prevent the flavors from thinning out. Colorful Carrot Salad with Lemon Dressing Colorful Carrot Salad with Lemon Dressing
Hello!!! Did everyone have a good weekend? I hope so and I do hope that all is well…We had a very nice weekend it was the first one that we went out in a long long long time, we went and visited some friends who have moved to Germany from Greece. Our friend actually is a base player in a group and they were having a live concert on Saturday night so this gave us the opportunity to hear him live again!! I think its been 10 years since the last time I have been to a live concert. Germany had wonderful weather this weekend, Saturday night was just lovely, warm, stars were out, people dancing, and having a great time. 🙂Sunday we were invited over to some other friends house for lunch, the food was delicious BBQ, 🙂 we got a chance to catch up on everything and well we just had a lovely time. 😉 Just a small shout out thanking Katerina and hubby so much for inviting us to their home and their wonderful hospitality. (Before I forget Charlie had a great time too!!!) 🙂Since food was way to much this weekend, today’s lunch is light and salad is the only option. I ate Carrot Salad for the first time at my mother-in-laws :)…I remember that she placed it on the table and I made some sort of facial expression because she caught it hahahahahahah…and she remarked..:) Don’t get me wrong I love my mother-in-law, I have been very lucky she is like a second mom to me, anyway because I love salad I was absolutely going to try it, and have been making it myself since then. 🙂 Foodzesty -

Easy Chinese Cabbage Salad Easy Chinese Cabbage Salad
Whenever I serve this as the salad in a meal, my family eats a lot of it. It's very easy and quick, so I make it quite often. The key is to add the sesame oil in first, and mix well. This prevents the salad from becoming too watery since the oil coats the cabbage. For 3 servings. Recipe by taesmile cookpad.japan -
Spring Cabbage Salad with Sesame Oil, Lemon Juice and Salt Spring Cabbage Salad with Sesame Oil, Lemon Juice and Salt
Spring cabbage is so tender, and I love to eat the crunchy raw leaves. There are many picnics and potluck parties in the spring, so this simple and quick to make dish is perfect for such occasions. The crispy crunchy texture is very popular as an accompaniment to other dishes. It's great for everyday meals too.Adjust the amount of salt to taste. The lemon juice is the key. It's hardly a recipe, but during the spring cabbage season you may want to eat this every day.A big tupperware container full of this at an ohanami (cherry blossom viewing) picnic is quite popular. Quick Korean-Style Spicy Carrot Salad Quick Korean-Style Spicy Carrot Salad
Some time ago, my Italian cooking teacher for some reason told me that he loved to eat this combination of carrots and shredded dried squid, so I tried to remember what he told me and recreated it.If you use ready to eat dried shredded squid or that you have on hand, you can make a "B-class gourmet" appetizer that's great to munch on with sake. If you add the sesame oil with seasoning ingredients, it will coat the carrots and prevent the flavors from penetrating them properly, so add the oil later. For 4 to 5 servings.
