Natto is a Japanese fermented soybean product. Definitely not for everyone, but I'm a fan.

1 serving
  1. 1 packagenatto

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Natto is pretty much ready to eat out of the package, but you need to stir it up to improve the texture and, so they say, activate it's healthful properties. It generally comes pre-packaged by serving.

  2. 2

Transfer your natto from it's packaging to a bowl. This can be tricky because of the crazy sticky goo that it contains. It forms fine web-like strands as you stretch it apart.

  3. 3

Now, grab 2 chopsticks, and plant the tips at the center with a space between them. Begin stirring in a circular motion. Complete 300 circles. That's a lot of circles right, but keep going.

  4. 4

Alright, now serve it up. I like to crack a raw egg yolk in the middle and add a little soy sauce. Rice is an essential accompaniment.
