Ingredients

  1. 11⁄2 cup butter, softened
  2. 2 cupswhite sugar
  3. 4egg
  4. 1 tspvanilla extract
  5. 5 cupsall-purpose flour
  6. 2 tspbaking powder
  7. 1 tspsalt

Cooking Instructions

    In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.

    Beat in eggs and vanilla.

  3. 3

    Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Knead untill thick though is formed.

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

  5. 5

    Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.

  6. 6

    Press into shapes with any cookie cutter or fork.

  7. 7

    Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

  8. 8

    Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven.

    Cool completely.
