Ingredients

30-45 mins
4-6 servings
  1. 1large chicken breast (boiled & shredded)
  2. 6 cupschicken stock
  3. 1carrots (peeled & shredded)
  4. 1/2cup(shredded) cabbage
  5. 4 tbsoil
  6. 6 tbscornflour
  7. 1/2 cupwhite vinegar
  8. 1egg
  9. 4 tbsdark soya sauce
  10. 1/2 tspblack pepper powder
  11. 1 tspsalt
  12. 2 tspChinese salt
  13. For red/green sauce:
  14. 2 tbspspoon Vinegar
  15. salt
  16. red chilli powder/Green chilli

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    In a pan add the chicken breast and 8 cups of water, boil the chicken till cooked completely.

    Remove the chicken once boiled, shred the chicken and keep the stock aside.

  3. 3

    In a pan add the chicken stock, bring it to a boil & add the shredded chicken and cook for 2minutes

    Now add the carrots, cabbage mix well and keep the flame on medium and cook for 1 minute.

    Now add the salt, Chinese salt, soya sauce, black pepper and vinegar mix well and cook for 1 more minute.

    Mix cornflour and 1/2 cup of water to make the paste, add this to the soup, keep stirring while adding the cornflour as
    you might get lumps.

    Once the soup is thickened, beat the egg and slowly add it to the soup.

    Heat the oil & add it to the soup. (purpose of reheat soup next day)

  9. 9

    Take a small bowl add vinegar,salt,and chillies as you like then mix and then rest before half an hour to make soup

  10. 10

    Hot and sour soup is ready to serve and serve with sauce and enjoy
