Seconds Please! White Stew with Napa Cabbage and Turnip Seconds Please! White Stew with Napa Cabbage and Turnip
Veggies like napa cabbage and turnips increase their sweetness when the weather gets chilly.I also like the hearty stew with potatoes, carrots, and onions, but made this instead with seasonal winter ingredients. You may omit Step 2 and just add the turnip greens at Step 8.If you prefer a lighter taste, add more water at Step 4.If you feel like it needs more taste, just add consommé, although I didn't add it since there is richness coming out of mushrooms and garlic. For 4 plates' worth. Recipe by Momogaiinaa cookpad.japan -
Beef Barley Stew Beef Barley Stew
It's been a while since I tried to cook something new, and I have to admit I've gotten lazy of late and have been ordering delivery a lot. But here's something I'd been meaning to try making for a while as the weather has been cooling some. (yeah 25°C counts as cool down here in the tropics!) Here's a hearty stew that might be even better for those of you that have real winter to contend with! 蛟龍Stormwyrm -
Knoephla Soup (Creamy chicken soup with potatoes and dumplings) Knoephla Soup (Creamy chicken soup with potatoes and dumplings)
This is a hearty, filling, and delicious soup that was originally developed by German-Americans in the Midwest. This is a great way to warm up on wintry or blustery days. The dumplings in this soup are dense and chewy, not delicate or pillowy. I love them! 😋Please note that I borrowed heavily from Molly Yeh’s recipe from the Food Network. Chris Gan -

Lamb Meatball & Root Vegetable Stew with Drop Biscuits Lamb Meatball & Root Vegetable Stew with Drop Biscuits
The list of ingredients is long, and there are quite a few steps in comparison to most of my recipes, but this is extremely easy to make!I had ground lamb in my freezer so decided to do a twist on lamb stew. It's different than the norm, but still very tasty. I made my butterless drop biscuits to plop on top which turned out to be an excellent idea so I am including that in the process. You don't HAVE to do that part though. StephieCanCook -
Winter Japanese Leek Stew Winter Japanese Leek Stew
It's winter time and I wanted to make a vegetable stew with Japanese leek instead of onions.Since you don't saute the vegetables with oil, the stew stays light and healthy. To add a wintry feel to your stew, use broccoli or cauliflower instead.I served it with tomato rice on the side. You can serve it with bread also.Cake flour is dissolved in soy milk before adding to the soup, so this way you don't have to worry about the flour clumping up. Gyoza Dumplings With Wings Gyoza Dumplings With Wings
I used to be bad at cooking gyoza dumplings when I was a newlywed, but I found a foolproof method of frying them.Once you line the gyoza dumplings in the frying pan, don't touch them until you transfer them to a serving dish. Fry the 'wings' over medium heat until they are properly browned. Wait patiently until the 'wings' stick to the pan and become thin and crispy. Recipe by Bakazoku cookpad.japan -
Plump and Juicy! Shrimp Wonton Dumplings Plump and Juicy! Shrimp Wonton Dumplings
I love shrimp. More than the wrappers and more than the meat, I wanted to emphasize the shrimp! So I used very thin wrappers and filled them with lots of shrimp. The keys to plump and juicy shrimp is to prepare the shrimp properly, and to not cut the shrimp with a knife.Once you boil the wonton they'll look OK, so you can be a bit sloppy when you make the dumplings. You can freeze the formed dumplings. Chicken and Dumplings - Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings - Slow Cooker
This recipe is my twist on a classic. Making it in a slow cooker means that I can turn this meal into an easy, mostly hands-off, weeknight meal and it's all still from scratch, so I feel good about serving it to my family. The dumplings are soft and fluffy. This comes together so easily and is hearty and delicious. Christina -
