Soak the dal for atleast half an hour.

Coarsely grind ginger garlic and green chillies

Heat oil in a cooker add ginger garlic paste and stir cook till it is pinkish and leaves the aroma.

Now add onion and bay leaves and saute nicely till it is pinkish and transparent.

Now add all the dry masalas mix well and add tomatoes and cook on low flame.

When tomatoes are well cooked add dal and cook for few mins.

Now add water accordingly and give 3 -4 whistles.

Open the lid and adjust the consistency of dal if necessary add some water mix it well and let it cook on low flame for 7-8 mins.

Yummiiilious dal is ready to serve with rice roti or puri
