Chhena poda is a cheese dessert from the Indian state of Orissa. Chhena poda literally means Roasted Cheese in Odia. Chhena and sugar are baked together till it gets a lovely brown colour .Chhena poda is the only well known Indian dessert whose flavor is predominantly derived from the caramelisation of sugar.

Steps

Take the paneer and crumble it well with hands.

Add sugar to it and then mix well again and mash it well till it reaches a dough consistency.

Add cardamon powder and rava and mix well again.

Add chopped nuts and mix.

Line a pan with parchment paper and put the mashed mixture in it and level it with a spoon.

Bake in a preheated oven at 160 degree Celsius for 35-40 minutes till the sugar is caramalised and you get a nice brown colour. Put a skewer or tooth pick to check the doneness from inside.

Let it cool and then cut into pieces and serve.
