Nan Thod Potatoes (Thai)

Soak tamarind for sometime and remove the pulp.

Boil the potatoes along with turmeric powder. We need to boil only upto 70 percent.

Once cool remove skin and fry the potatoes.

In a pan add 2 tsp of oil, add sliced onions and 1 tsp of garlic.

Break the whole red chillies with hand and add it.

Stir them on high flame. Add tamarind pulp and jaggery and add half cup of water.

Add salt and keep stirring making sure it doesn't stick.

Strain this sauce well.

In the same pan add 2 tsp of oil, add chopped onions and saute, add garlic paste and saute for a minute. Now add the strained tamarind chilli sauce, add 1-2 tsp of honey.

Stir on high flame.

Add salt mix well and add the potatoes.

Toss the potatoes on high flame and we can see the tamarind chilli sauce coats the potatoes.

Serve hot with placed of spicy green chutney which is optional.
