#picnicrecipe Few months ago, I was advised by my doctor to not eat street foods and also to stop intake of all-purpose flour/maida for some time. I was following it well until I started having strong cravings for momos. That's when I decided to make it at home myself using wholewheat. It came out really good. It was super delicious and very similar to market bought one. Hope you try to make it too and like it.

Ingredients

Prep:- 30 mins
4-5 people
  1. For dough-
  2. 1 cupwholewheat
  3. as per tasteSalt
  4. as requiredWater
  5. as requiredOil
  6. Forstuffing-
  7. as requiredThinly chopped cabbage
  8. 1Grated carrot
  9. as requiredGarlic, green chillies and ginger minced
  10. FewSpring onions chopped
  11. As per tasteSalt
  12. 1 tspBlack pepper powder
  13. 1 tspSoy sauce
  14. 1Lemon juice
  15. as requiredOil

Steps

Prep:- 30 mins
  1. 1

    Heat oil in a pan. Add cabbage, minced garlic, green chillies and ginger. Add a pinch of salt and mix. Cook for two minutes.

    Add grated carrot and mix. Cook well.

  3. 3

    Now add chopped spring onions and mix well. Let cook for 40 secs. Add salt, pepper, lemon juice and little bit of soy sauce and mix. Take off heat.

  4. 4

    For the dough -
    Take one cup atta. Add a pinch of salt and few drops of oil. Add water and knead it into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest.

  5. 5

    For making momo -
    Roll the dough thin. Cut small circles. Put stuffing in the center of the circle, apply water around it and close it in the shape of a semi-circle. Now apply water on both ends of it and make both the ends of the semi-circle meet each other at the centre. You can make your own desired shape.

    For steaming -
    Use momo steamer.
    If you don't have it then, heat water in a large pot. Now grease a colander with little oil. Place momo's in it. Place the colander on top of the pot. Cover it using a lid. Let it cook for 10-15 mins or until done.

    Serve hot with Szechuwan sauce and mayonnaise.
