Ingredients

30 mins
5 servings
  • 50 gramsMoong dal
  • 1 cupMethi leaves
  • 1Onion
  • 2Green chillies
  • 1/2 tspGinger , finely grated
  • fewCoriander leaves
  • FewCurry leaves
  • as per tasteSalt
  • 1 pinchHing
  • 1/4 tspGaram masala powder
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1/4 cupGrated Coconut
  • 15Cashews ,soak for 15 mins in warm water
  • 1/4 tspCumin seeds
  • 100 gramsPaneer , cut into cubes
  • Fortempering:
  • 2 tspOil
  • 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  • 1 pinchHing
  • 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  • 2 tspOnion , finely chopped
  • fewCurry leaves

Steps

30 mins
  1. 1

    Chop the Onion, green chillies and coriander leaves finely.
    Wash the moong dal and methi leaves well.
    Grind the coconut, cashews and cumin to a fine paste.

  2. 2

    In pressure cooker, add the washed moong dal,  methi leaves, chopped onion, coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, salt, turmeric powder and garam masala powder.

  3. 3

    Add grounded masala and a cup of water
    Then add the paneer cubes and pressure cook for 2 whistles.

  4. 4

    Once the pressure is released, temper with the ingredients listed.

  5. 5

    Serve hot with rice or chapati.
