Ingredients

  • ForIngredients to pressure cook mutton
  • 1/2 kgMutton
  • As per taste salt
  • 2 (1 inch pieces)Cinnamon sticks (dalchini)
  • 4Green cardamom (Elaichi)
  • 4 Cloves (laung)
  • 1 tablespoonOil
  • 1 glassWater
  • For Frying vegetables-
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 medium sizedDiced onion
  • 1 medium sizedDiced capsicum
  • 1 medium sizedDiced tomatoes
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves
  • 1 tspKasoori methi
  • For onion paste
  • 1 tablespoonOil
  • 1 medium sizedOnion
  • 1Bay leaf (tej patta)
  • 2Green cardamoms (Elaichi)
  • 2Cloves (Laung)
  • 1 (1 inch) Cinnamon (dalchini)
  • 1/2 cupCurd
  • For gravy-
  • 2 tablespoonsOil
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1 tsp heaped Red chilli powder
  • 1 tspCoriander powder (Dhaniya powder)
  • 1 tspCumin powder (Jeera powder)

Steps

  1. 1

    To pressure cook the mutton - Add oil in a pressure cooker. Add mutton, salt, cinnamon, green cardamom, clove.
    Add a glass of water and pressure cook it till the mutton is tender.

    For frying the vegetables- Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and fry for a min. Add capsicum and fry for another 2 to 3 mins. Then add tomatoes and fry for 2 mins. Remove from heat and add coriander leaves and kasoori methi.

    To make onion paste - Heat oil in the same pan. Add bay leaves, green cardamom, cinnamon, clove. Fry for a min. Add onions and fry till the onions begin to turn brown. Remove from heat then add curd and grind it.

    To make gravy - Heat oil in the same pan. Add Ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 to 2 mins. Add the onion Curd paste. To it add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, Coriander powder, cumin powder. Fry till oil starts oozing from the sides. Add the pressure cooked mutton along with the water left. Add the already fried onions, capsicum and tomatoes. And cook for 5 mins till the gravy thickens.
