Ingredients

  • 2 cupsbrown lentils (about 400 grams)
  • 2 cupscoarse bulgur (about 340 grams)
  • 3onions
  • 1little olive oil, for sautéing
  • 1 literwater (about 4 1/4 cups), for boiling

Steps

    Rinse the lentils well and boil them until tender.

  2. 2

    Rinse the bulgur well and drain it.

  3. 3

    Once the lentils are cooked, remove 4 cups of the lentil cooking water and place it in a pot. Add the cooked lentils and salt to taste.

  4. 4

    Bring the lentils to a gentle boil, then add the bulgur. Let them simmer together for a bit, then reduce the heat and cook until the bulgur is tender.

  5. 5

    Slice the onions thinly and sauté them in olive oil until golden brown. Spoon the onions over the mujadara. Serve with salad or yogurt.
