  • 2 cMilk
  • 2 TbspShortening
  • 2 TbspButter
  • 6 TbspFlour
  • to tasteSalt and Pepper

Steps

  1. 1

    Melt shortening and butter, take off heat.

  2. 2

    Mix in flour to make a paste.

  3. 3

    Add milk slowly, stirring constantly with whisk so sauce is not lumpy. Stir until smooth - Never let boil!
