  • 50 gyogurt (starter)

    Add milk to a pot an bring to near boil (this pasteurizes the milk)be careful to not let it boil over, this can take roughly 2 minutes

    Cool your milk by immersing your pot to a cold bath or just tap water, cooling can take 3-4 minutes as well, once cooler take a few spoon of the milk and mix it with the starter and was is more fluid add to the milk and stir (don't over mix)

    Most important important, the bacteria that makes the yogurt to come together is said to be thermophilic (thrives in warm temperatures) cover the pot/container with a cloth first and lid over and keep in the oven light (just above zero) oven light is neither hot or cold..just lukewarm, let this rest for 3-6 hours

    I let mine to sit for 4 hours and it came out well

    This is plain yogurt, notice it has some whey on it ( the yellowish water stuff. You can strain it our with a cloth for some greek yogurt and there after enjoy, serve warm or chilled
